Episode 8: Deadly Outlaw Tears

Yooooooooooo!  Podcast Without Honor and Humanity is back in black and this time I get to take on two legends in the Japanese and Hong Kong film industry.  This week I cover 2002's Deadly Outlaw Rekka(Takashi Miike) and 1984's Heroes Shed No Tears(John Woo).  In addition to the commando and yakuza mayhem, I provide you with some talk about surly critics, knife fights, dog confessionals, and a Korean zombie.  As always, there's a guest spot and this time it's East Screen West Screen's Paul Fox and he graces us with a Top 10 Movies You Need to See Before Visiting Hong Kong.

As always, send your feedback to podcastwithouthonorandhumanity@gmail.com or shoot me a voicemail to 206-337-8007

Episode 7: Die Bad Cops

Namaste, foooools!  Podcast Without Honor and Humanity is back and bringing along som tomfoolery and some ass-kickery.  Cinematic atrocity Future Cops(1993) and busted-knuckle bruiser Die Bad(2000) get the usual once-over from yours truly.  In addition to Andy Lau eating a shoe and black and white blood, you get some nonsense involving Losers, Pride, and getting drowned in a kiddie pool of poo(Dead or Alive reference, I ain't no skeez).  Be sure to hang around until the end to hear Kevin from East Screen/West Screen drop some blu-knowledge as he lists his top Hong Kong blu-rays.

I gots myself a voicemail line so give it a shot and send in your feedback to 206-337-8007 or you can send your snail e-mail to podcastwithouthonorandhumanity@gmail.com

Episode 6: Lake of Wolfguy

Welcome back, party people!  The latest cinematic gems up for review are 1971's Lake of Dracula and 1975's groovy, gory, ghastly Sonny Chiba vehicle, Wolfguy.  In addition to muddy sand make-up and electrified monkeybars, you're going to get a dose of British cussing, bird mass-murder, and a bonkers spy spoof.  Come for the reviews and stay for special guest stars Sleazy K and King Who? as they list off their top three Ho Fan flicks.  This episode is strictly for the art crowd.  Be sure to send in your feedback to podcastwithouthonorandhumanity@gmail.com  Peace!

The Japan Earthquake and Tsuanami Relief Fund

Truthfully, I can't help but feel like I lack the grace and gravity to properly grapple with and/or approach the tragedy in Japan.  The least I can do is grapple with html and do what I can to help facillitate some donations.  I'll let Coffin Jon from VCinema put it in his words:

"As we all know very well by now, on Friday, March 11th at 2:46pm (JST), one of the largest earthquakes on record hit the northern coast of Japan and  reverberated down the country’s eastern shores causing destruction and loss of lives not only from the quakes themselves, but also the tsunamis caused by them.  We here have many friends and family members who were affected by this disaster, most of whom we are happy to report have been accounted for and were relatively unaffected.  However, there are thousands of more people in Japan who require assistance, so we are calling on friends of VCinema to help out.

In conjunction with other Asian film blogs and podcasts, we are requesting our listeners and readers to make donations to the Japan Society in New York.  The Japan Society is one of the oldest and most respected cultural centers in North America and have done remarkable job at promoting Japanese film with their  Japan Cuts film festival and other such exciting film events.  Information about the Japan Society can be found here.  Also check out their dedicated page here for updates about the disaster and aid efforts.  They are pledging 100% of all donations directly to the relief effort."

It's been exhaustively reiterated, but it honestly bears repeating:  Any and all donations, not matter how large or small, count.
